Welcome to QuestMap. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using QuestMap ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

QuestMap is a web-based application for creating and managing interactive quest and NPC relationship graphs. The Service allows you to:

• Create visual quest maps and dialog trees
• Organize NPCs, quests, locations, and their relationships
• Export and import project data
• Store data locally in your browser

3. No User Accounts Required

QuestMap currently operates without requiring user accounts. All data is stored locally in your browser. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups by exporting your projects.

4. User Conduct and Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Service Ownership

QuestMap and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by QuestMap and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to the quest maps, dialogs, and other content you create using QuestMap ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not use it for any purpose beyond providing the Service.

6. Data Storage and Backup

All data is stored locally in your browser. You are responsible for:

• Regularly exporting your projects as backups
• Understanding that clearing browser data will delete your projects
• Maintaining your own copies of important work

We are not liable for data loss, corruption, or deletion.

7. Free Service

QuestMap is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice, or to introduce paid features in the future. Any significant changes to the service model will be communicated to users in advance.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected immediately
• The Service will be available at all times

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose

• Accuracy or completeness of content

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUESTMAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or data loss
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QuestMap and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your Content

12. Export and Termination

12.1 Your Right to Export

You may export all Your Content at any time in JSON format.

12.2 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time. For local storage, you can clear your browser data to remove all content.

12.3 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Notifying users through the Service (for material changes)

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law
